A fitted expansion rate has to survive the next observer.

The Hubble programme moved from matching an acoustic-ruler proxy to full spectra, correlated likelihoods and a test that withheld the local expansion datum.

A shorter ruler is only the beginning

An early energy component can shorten the sound horizon. That observation motivated a bounded transfer challenge, but an acoustic-ruler ratio is not a complete cosmology. Changing the background also changes recombination, peak heights, polarization, diffusion, lensing and distance ratios. The first wave-background models matched a supplied ruler target while missing the acoustic angle.

The subsequent scalar model imports established Einstein–FLRW, Klein–Gordon and recombination mathematics. Its potential and gravity bridge are assumptions supplied to the research programme, not derived consequences of the seven typed layers.

rₛ = ∫₀ᵃ* cₛ(a) / [a² H(a)] da θ* = rₛ / Dₘ(z*) V(φ) = m²f²[1 − cos(φ/f)]³

The first full-spectrum challenge exposed the proxy

Three unchanged background-calibrated candidates were passed to pinned AxiCLASS/HyRec source. Their temperature spectra differed from the reference by roughly 5.41–8.12% RMS, much more than their observed numerical-precision sensitivity. Published bandpowers gave much worse diagnostic agreement for those frozen candidates. This challenged those fixed candidates; it did not establish a family-wide exclusion significance.

Joint fitting then allowed declared cosmological and primordial parameters to change. A scalar endpoint reached H₀≈73.56 km/s/Mpc while the local-H₀ datum participated in its objective. Agreement with an input to a fit is a fit, not an independent prediction. Optimizer stops and unfinished or nonstationary searches remain visible.

Withhold the number we wanted to explain

The later withheld-local-H₀ study removed the local datum from every fit objective and used native low-T, low-E and lensing terms alongside high-CMB, BAO and calibration. Its lowest evaluated standard point was H₀=68.36146; its lowest evaluated scalar point was H₀=69.77232, with a score difference of −3.58255 relative to that standard endpoint.

A second scalar branch reached H₀=72.37718 with a score gap of only 0.32058 to the lower-H₀ scalar endpoint. The bounded searches therefore did not select the local expansion value uniquely. These are evaluated points, not posterior intervals, discovery significances or certified global minima. The progress is a sharper prediction test and a retained near-degeneracy.

Two shortcuts did not survive their checks

Holding Aₛ exp(−2τ) fixed preserves that scalar combination, but a proposed full-spectrum rescaling failed its frozen deviance tolerance: a maximum error of 4.3053 exceeded 2. This rejects that proxy in its tested scope; it does not reject the familiar approximate amplitude–optical-depth degeneracy.

The neutrino-budget preflight separates replacing a radiation component from adding another one. Its deliberate extra-radiation control changed the early expansion rate; it was not a new present-day H₀ prediction. Two score refinements failed their frozen tolerance. The negative results remain part of the story.

Reproduction is now stronger; identification remains open

The saved 2.42 execution report records 306 frozen source/data hashes, eleven complete native rescored endpoints with maximum disagreement about 6.83×10⁻¹³, and four actual refined solver calls. Those checks reproduce historical measured-input analyses. This website update reviewed that record; it did not rerun the cosmological optimizer or the full native solver.

A next scientific claim needs convergence and starting-point studies, appropriate posterior or profile uncertainty, explicit nuisance assumptions and independent probes reserved before model changes. The programme has not solved the Hubble tension or identified a physical extra spatial dimension. The classic Planck inference of 67.4±0.5 is explicitly conditional on base ΛCDM, rather than a model-free direct measurement.
